
There was disappointment for the Irish provinces in Scotland in the Magners League on Friday night.
Defending champions Munster lost their 2nd game on the bounce after a 12-7 defeat to Edinburgh at Murrayfield.
Chris Patterson fired over four penalties for Edinburgh while David Wallace crossed over for a Munster try with Ronan O’Gara converting.
Connacht meanwhile lost 34-20 at now joint leaders Glasgow.
Thom Evans crossed the tryline twice with Max Evans and Johnnie Beattie also touching down for the hosts in the bonus point victory while Fionn Carr scored Connacht’s single try with Ian Keatley kicking the rest of the Westener’s points.
Elsewhere, six penalties from Rhys Priestland saw Llanelli Scarlets win the Welsh derby against Newport-Gwent Dragons by 18 points to 3.
